On Page SEO in five easy steps

On page Seo is on of the most important parts of seo. Here I am going to list the different things you have to do to have
your site well optimized, remember that you first have to pick the keyword you want to rank for, then read this guide:

1. – Putting Keywords in Titles: A really important thing is to put keywords in titles, how is that? simple, add between
the < title > and < /title > tags the keyword you want to rank for. For example this article’s title would be On page SEO.

2. – Putting keywords in url: Another thing to do is adding your keywords in your url, For example, here we want to rank
for On page seo, so our URL should be on-page-seo.html, we used dashes cause searche engines read dashes (-) as spaces.

3. – Putting keywords in Tags: You also should add between the and tags the following code:
< meta name="keywords" content="your, keywords"> < meta name="description" content="Your site description including
your keywords"> Obviously replacing it with your own content.

4. – Putting image descriptions on alt tags: Remember to put descriptions on your images using the alt tag.

5. – Use Heading Tags: Use heading tags in your main keywords, H1 for your main keywords, H2 for your secondary keywords
and h3,h4,h5,h6 for the others.

Well, that are the main things to do, if you do all that you should have a site ranking well. For more seo articles visit my site:

Search Engine Optimization of Your Blog

Now-a-days installing blogging softwares are just few minutes of click and run jobs. In few minutes you can install a nice
looking blog ready to be published. Until this stage, everything seems simple, but when it comes to promoting something
as complex as blogging softwares or CMS (Content Management System) applications for that mater, on which blogging
softwares are based, can be quite tricky and painful. It is as much painfully easy to install blog software, as it is painfully
hard to promote it on search engines if you do not know the correct direction to make headway.

Even though Wordpress comes with features which will help you to make your blog search engine optimized, but these are
too basic features to be relied on and you will still need to make changes yourself to better it.

Mata Tags

Meta tags which are important for search engine optimizing your blog, doesn’t come bundled with your Wordpress, when you
install it. You will need to install a plugins to have your meta tags displayed on your blog head. Meta tags can be added in the
header.php file of your blog. A list of popular Mata tags plugins can be found at http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Meta .

Permalink Tag

Every blog has a Permalink feature; it is the permanent link (URL) to a post or page on your blog. Having keyword rich URLs
will surely help your blog being pulled for important keywords. You can customize your permalink structure to have more
keywords instead of default /category/year/date/time/hour/minute/second/post_title as your post URL. For instance, you can
remove %seconds%, %hour% or %post_id% in your parmalink tag. These are not necessary and having them as your URIs will
only make it look longer. Also you can do away with %date% tag altogether to just have %category% in the URIs.

Category names

Be careful while making categories. You can always have the category names as keywords so that your final URIs will be
full of keywords.

Tagging

You can have tags especially Technorati Tag plugin installed for your blog posts. Tags are basically names of categories or
subjects. With tags in your post, you can categorize your posts based on these tags. While tagging will increases traffic to
your blog, it will also make it search engine friendly.

Making above changes to your blog will definitely make it look more search engine optimized and will help you increase its
online visibility in Search engine result pages (SERPs).

Link building for effective search engine optimization

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

When you begin the task of acquiring quality and relevant backlinks to your website there are many factors that can increase
or decrease your search engine rankings. This article outlines the difference between good and bad backlinks. A quality backlink
pointing to your site should be in the same category and relevant in content to your website. The page where your link is located
should be indexed by Google and the page should also have a Google page rank. The webpage where your link is located should
also contain no more than 30 other out-going links to other websites. Link pages with more than 30 out-going links are less
relevant to the search engines. Having your link posted on this type of webpage can affect your search engine rankings in a
negative way. Other excellent techniques of acquiring backlinks are directory submissions, posting articles, blogs and forums.
For directory submissions select the proper directory category and take a look at how many other websites are contained in the
category where your link would be posted, if you can manage to get on the first or second page of the listings, this is a quality
backlink. Also look at the Google page rank of the landing page for your link. If the page has a Google page rank this is also a
quality backlink. Stay within your category, relevant content is very important to the search engines. Write an article preferably
relevant in content to your website and submit the article to high quality article directories. Blogs are an excellent way to get
quality one-way backlinks, Blog sites also receive tons of traffic, which in turn give your site more exposure. Posting your link
on forum pages is also an efficient method of aquiring backlinks instantly. Backlinks to avoid would be a 0 page ranked webpage,
especially if the home page has a zero page rank. Links posted within framed webpages which will also steal your traffic.
Especially avoid link farms, webpages which contain more than 100 unrelated outgoing links, This type of link page is frowned
upon by many major search engines. Avoid Webpages with mirror sites containing the exact same content with a different URL,
also pages that utilize redirects and URL cloaking. Never post your link on a webpage that contains a “no follow” or “no index”
robots meta tag within the source code. Dynamic websites with question marks in the URL should be avoided because they
are not always indexed by the search engines. Also avoid posting your link on a page that opens very slow or contains mostly
ads and flash banners. Try not to aquire or purchase great numbers of backlinks in a short period of time, backlinks should be
accumulated gradually. Also avoid webpages and directories that list their results in alphabetical order, as their database
increases your link could be moved to a less relevant page with less pagerank. Quality backlinks are one of the most important
factors involved in the process of acheiving high search engine ranking.
